What to do?

On May 4th, I am supposed to fly out o New Zealand to Bangkok, where a travel warning has been issued to tourists and the level of terrorist threat has been raised to high. I was planning on hauling ass out of Bangkok ASAP, anyway, but now I have read that some of the most major clashes are at the Thai-Cambodian border, which I had planned on crossing overland to get to Siem Reap on May 5th. Apparently the route has been secured and the train station in Bangkok (I planned on taking the train to a town near the border and then a tuk-tuk the rest of the way) has been reopened after closing on April 13th. So maybe it’s kind of ok. Or should I just splurge on a plane ticket to Siem Reap from the Bangkok airport to avoid the land crossing? Or maybe I can disguise myself as a protester (I heard that all Asians look the same anyway) and protest my way over the border…with my Gregory backpack and everything…

I will post a blog with beautiful NZ pics soon…don’t you worry.
