Asado: The Sport of Eating an Entire Cow

I have participated in numerous Asados here in Argentina thus far. But the most epic was the one the owners at my hostel decided to throw last Saturday. Here´s what happened:

The day started simply enough, chillin, reading the paper on the lake.

The day started simply enough, relaxing, reading the paper on the lake. Trying to prep myself for the night ahead with a fairly tranquilo day.

then a lovely piece of the cow´s stomach is added to the plate...

and then another piece of the cow...may it be the rib area...near the throat...who knows it´s delicious

This is how much was left on my plate. Imagine me- not finishing my meat! That´s how full I was.

and 4 hours later…in the AM…we finished the massive meal. I had to pace myself, just like people who run the marathon. And I made it through! Maybe that means I can run the New York Marathon when I get back…
